Public transport at night

If you are enjoying a night out in the city center and want to get back home after 1am, you might have a problem. Night public transport is not as advanced in Brussels but here are some options!

Metro / Tram / Bus

Living around  the VUB, Campus Etterbeek?

  • Bus 95: Leaving from Grote Markt/Grand Place at 00:05

  • Bus 71: Leaving from Brouckère at 0:25

  • Metro 5: Leaving from Brouckère at  1:03

Living around  the VUB, Campus Jette?

  • Bus 13: Leaving Simonis metro station

  • Bus 14 & 15: Leaving from North Railwaystation ( also passing Simonis)

  • Bus 84: Leaving from metro station Beekkant [direction of Heizel]

  • Bus 53: Leaving from the trainstation Jette, direction Dieleghem.

Noctis

On Friday and Saturday night there are night busses  they are called Noctis. These buses cover limited lines but can generally get you anywhere. To get back to campus Etterbeek you take Nr 8 or Nr 9 at la Bourse. The last one leaves at 2h30. If you miss the last one you need to wait for the first bus or metro. Unfortunately, no Noctis service near campus Jette available.

Collecto

This shared cab service can save you in the following situations:

  • You’ve missed the last Noctis

  • You want to stay out a bit longer

  • You are out during a weeknight

You can call them on 0800 94 001 or reserve one through their app. You can be picked up from every MIVB/STIB station. It will cost you 5 euros to get to your destination, wherever that is in Brussels’ region between two MIVB/STIB stations.
